“Celebrating Women's Month with Strength, Confidence, and Community Support”

Collaboration to Provide Lunch for 50 Elderly Members

The Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children in collaboration with United Women's Group (UWG) Orange Walk Central and HelpAge Orange Walk provided lunch to 50 elderly members of the Orange Walk community.

This initiative was done as a part of our office's Women's Month activities for 2024. It was a pleasure for us to work together to provide our elderly population with a nutritious meal.

Girls Empowerment Session for ANRI High School

H.E. Rossana Briceño had the honor of attending a Girls Empowerment Session with the female student body of ANRI (Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute) high school.

This activity in honor of Women's Month was a collaborative effort between the Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, POWA (Productive Organization for Women in Action), and the administration of ANRI.

The purpose of this activity was to provide the girls with a comprehensive session on their bodies with a view to develop lifelong positive body image and hygiene practices as well as promoting best practices for menstrual health.

At the end of the session, the Office of the Special Envoy provided the girls of ANRI with hygiene kits as a token of our appreciation for their participation in this lesson.

Special thank you to Mrs. Michele Irving, Executive Director of POWA for facilitating the session and to the administration and students of ANRI, for allowing us to see this initiative come to fruition.
