During Women’s Month in March of each year, the OSE collaborates with the MHDFIPA and the Women’s Commission to organize various activities that honor and showcase the remarkable women of Belize and champion causes that affect women.

To kick off the start of Women’s Month, the OSE hosted and supported an Inspiration Renewal Ecumenical Service on Sunday, February 26th, 2023 at the Bliss Insititute for the Performing Arts. This was done in collaboration with Apostle Suzette from Merirh’s Ministries International.

On March 8th, 2023, which is celebrated annually as International Women’s Day, H.E. Rossana Briceño gave a speech to the women in the Belize Defence Force (BDF) to recognize their sacrifices, challenges, and achievements in a mostly male-dominated field. She iterated in her remarks her admiration and support for the women in uniformed services, acknowledging the need to break gender stereotypes, discrimination, and bias within our armed forces.

Additionally, for Women’s Month, awards were given to three (3)remarkable women during the Women’s Month celebrations. These women include Seidy Quetzal, Francisca Assi, and Doretta Valerio.
