WHO Webinar Cervical Cancer

As the Chair of SCLAN, H.E. Rossana Briceño had the honor of participating in a global meeting hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) on November 17th, 2024, to show support for the Day of Action for the Elimination of Cervical Cancer.

In her remarks, Mrs. Briceño provided an update on the current state and response to cervical cancer prevention and treatment in Belize and reiterated Belize’s commitment to eliminating cervical cancer as a public health issue.

She further emphasized that prevention, detection, and treatment are key to eradicating cervical cancer as a public health issue. Regular screenings, vaccination against Human papillomavirus (HPV), and access to quality healthcare can save lives.

At the end of her remarks, Mrs. Briceño urged all countries to come together to scale up prevention, detection, and treatment efforts, and work towards eliminating cervical cancer as a public health concern worldwide
