Power Over Period: Empowering the Next Generation

Stella Maris Special Education and Life-Skills Learning Center

On March 16, 2026, I had the privilege of visiting Stella Maris Special Education and Life-Skills Learning Center.

I had the honor to hand over 15 Power over Period (POP) hygiene packages to the young girls, along with a heavy-duty power washer to support the students in their car wash life-skills program.

My sincere thanks to the Stella Maris administration for the kind invitation. Inclusion is not just a principle, it is the commitment to ensure every child has the tools and opportunities to thrive.

Congratulations to the staff for the hard work that they do to ensure that inclusion is done responsibly and respectfully. Kudos to the administrators for instilling pride and commitment in everything that the staff does for the benefit of our children at Stella Maris.

Orange Walk Technical High School

On September 15th, 2025, I had the privilege of visiting Orange Walk Technical High School in my hometown, where I distributed 150 Power Over Period wellness packages to the first form female students.

This continuous “Power Over Period” campaign will benefit young girls across the country by reducing barriers to education, promoting menstrual health awareness, and ensuring that they are supported to reach their full potential.

This initiative was made possible through the generous collaboration of Sunny’s Supermarket, Sugar City Supermarket, VIN’s Liquors Ltd., and Nando’s Wholesale. I also extend sincere gratitude to the administration of OWTHS for their support and to the students of the school’s kitchen for preparing the refreshments that added a special touch to the occasion.

Together, we continue to take meaningful steps toward empowering our young women and ensuring they have the resources to thrive.
