September 25, 2024 – H.E. Mrs. Rosanna Briceño had the profound honor of receiving the Global Female Impact Leadership Award at the 2024 Global Power Women Conference (GPWC) in New York.

This prestigious award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of global first ladies who have driven transformative change through visionary leadership and heartfelt compassion. It stands as a testament to our collective commitment to advocacy, addressing critical global challenges, and pushing for lasting social and environmental progress, all while shaping policies that leave a lasting imprint on the world.

The event brought together influential voices through keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking sessions, all centered around the theme: “Advancing the Transformative Power of Technology through a Woman’s Lens: Shaping the Future of Business and Governance.”

During Mrs. Rossana acceptance remarks, she reflected on her journey as a Special Education Professional and the milestones she have achieved since becoming the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, particularly in championing the empowerment of women. In her remarks, she also emphasized a core belief that continues to shape her work in Belize: “In every initiative, in every collaboration, I am guided by two principles: that empowered women create empowered nations and secondly, that the way a nation treats their children and most vulnerable will determine its future”

With the recognition of this award, H.E. Mrs. Rosanna Briceño both humbled and encouraged to continue her efforts of ensuring that Belize most vulnerable communities are equipped with the resources, knowledge, and support they need to flourish.
