Unlock your Baking Potential
July 16th 2025
Today, with hearts full of pride and gratitude, we celebrate the successful completion of the six-week “Unlock Your Baking Potential” training program, a truly enriching journey of Belizean culinary creativity. This initiative brought together 20 remarkable Belizean women and men who embraced this opportunity to learn, grow, and transform their passion for baking into a pathway for financial stability and self-reliance.
At today’s ceremony, certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their dedication, and commitment they demonstrated throughout the program. This celebration marks not just the end of a course, but the beginning of new and exciting entrepreneurial ventures. We are especially proud of the inclusivity shown by our male participants, whose enthusiasm and participation reaffirm that baking, like opportunity, knows no gender.
The Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children extends its deepest appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Taiwan ICDF, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Culture, and Immigration for their invaluable support in making this collaborative initiative possible. Your partnership continues to be a beacon of hope and development for our people.
A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to Ms. Ila Reid, owner of Ila’s Pastry House, whose unwavering passion, mentorship, and nurturing spirit were the soul of this program. Through her guidance and the sharing of cherished Belizean family recipes, she has passed on not just skills, but tradition and love.
Finally, to each participant: thank you for showing up with open hearts and minds. Your courage to learn, your drive to succeed, and your belief in yourselves are what made this program truly meaningful. We celebrate you today and look forward to the sweet success that lies ahead.
