Belize Advances EVAC Action Plan to Protect Children

On January 22, 2026, H.E. Rossana Briceño hosted the EVAC (Ending Violence Against Children) meeting at the Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children.

The meeting brought together representatives from UNICEF, Ministry of Health and Wellness, and the Ministry of Human Development, Family Support and Gender Affairs to advance our joint commitment to protecting the children of Belize.

We focused on critical areas following up on previous discussions and pending actions, reviewing the EVAC agenda and evidence base including from the 2023 Child Protection Evaluation, validating the EVAC Action Plan, formalizing a National Child Protection Coordination Mechanism, and outlining our way forward with next steps.

Together, we continue to strengthen the safety of every child in Belize. By coming together, this partnership ensures that the protection of our Children remains a national priority.
